VICTORIA, Texas (AP) – A Texas federal judge dropped the bankruptcy case of Infowars and two other subsidiaries of Alex Jones on Friday, the result of an agreement between a conspiracy theorist and parents of several children. 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting.
U.S. bankruptcy judge Christopher Lopez approved the deal after a brief court hearing. A judge’s action allows a parental libel lawsuit against Jones to proceed in Texas and Connecticut, where trial on how much he owes the families is pending after both state judges. Jones and his companies were held liable for the damages.
Family lawsuits allege they were harassed and threatened with death by Jones ’followers because of a fraudulent conspiracy. Jones, who lives in Austin, Texas, said he believes the shooting took place.
Relatives of the 20 first-graders, eight and six educators killed in the massacre and an FBI agent who responded at a school in Newtown, Connecticut, have filed charges with Jones and Free Speech Systems.

The families and the U.S. Attorney’s Office – the Department of Justice agency that handles bankruptcy cases – questioned the legitimacy of the three companies ’filing for bankruptcy and tried to dismiss the case, saying yes it was a only question of adjournment of the case. Jones’s attorneys denied the allegations.
