Copenhagen has decided to extend the deadlines for residence permits for Ukrainians until March 17, 2025. Until March next year, the authorities will check the affairs of Ukrainians who have received residence permits. If they continue to meet the conditions of temporary protection, they will continue automatically. The corresponding card will be sent by mail. This was reported by the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
It is noted that citizens of Ukraine will not need to re-provide their biometric data – photographs and fingerprints.
The Ministry added that this decision became part of the law “On temporary residence permits for persons displaced from Ukraine,” which was adopted in March last year. This law allows Ukrainians to legalize their stay in Denmark and enjoy social rights.
As you know, UN data show that as of October 2023, the number of forced migrants from Ukraine registered in countries around the world is more than 6 million people. Denmark is one of Ukraine’s most active partners in the fight against Russian aggression.
Let us recall that in October, experts from the Munich Institute for the Study of Economics stated that among those seeking protection from the Russian war in Ukraine who ended up in Germany, the proportion of men had tripled.
