Grieving Man Found Guilty Of Spreading While Mourning Bride –

An Alabama man who left a flower box decorated with photos of him and his deceased bride at the grave was found guilty of dumping trash on Thursday.

Winston Hagans, whose bride, Hannah Ford, died in a car accident in January 2021, was arrested when a traffic stop due to an expired label revealed that Ford’s father, Tom Ford, has signed a warrant against him. According to the Alabama Information Station WBRC.

The father, who owns the cemetery, told the court he disagreed with his son’s relationship with Hagan, the WBRC reported.

Hagans, who placed a box of flowers on Ford’s grave in honor of him, noticed that someone was constantly removing it, so he kept replacing it.

He said he received permission from the city of Auburn to plant a planter in his grave, the WBRC said, even though the city government prohibits planting in graves.

A spokesman for the city’s park and recreation department said he told Hagans he had stopped putting boxes in the grave, but he continued to do so.

Hegans plans to appeal Judge Jim McLaughlin’s decision. He was fined $ 50 for disposing of the trash, plus a $ 250 court fee.
