The Ukrainian Defense Forces are ordering UAVs for their operations. The record combat range of the new development is 1 thousand km. General Director of Ukroboronprom German Smetanin spoke about this in an interview with Economic Pravda.
According to him, there are many public and private UAV manufacturers in Ukraine. The developers have an analogue of the Iranian Shaheds that Russia uses. However, there are even more powerful models that fly longer distances than the Shahed-136/131.
We are now focused on the production of more complex and expensive projects with high performance, noted Smetanin.
As you know, at the beginning of the year, Ukroboronprom announced the development of a kamikaze drone capable of flying 1 thousand km, but then the product was at the testing stage.
Let us recall that Prime Minister Denis Shmigal stated that over the past year the production of drones in Ukraine has increased 100 times. Now more than 200 companies are developing drones, and approaches to the development of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex have undergone radical changes.
