The Telegraph writes that this happened when the Yemeni Houthis launched ballistic missiles into Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the interception of a rocket aimed at Eilat.
The Israeli Air Force has several batteries of the Arrow 2, which uses hypersonic interceptor missiles to destroy targets at high altitudes.
The destroyed missile was identified as a Kader, an upgraded version of the Iranian Shahab-3.
The successful interception proves to Iran, which was behind the launch and provided the missile to the Houthis, that Israel can act against its missile program, and this has much broader consequences for the regional conflict, the Israeli Defense Ministry commented on its success.
The Telegraph in its material does not explain where such data comes from, but only mentions the technical characteristics of Arrow 2 and the declared potential ability of air defense to intercept missiles in space.
