The Ukrainian military has already received eight new Archer self-propelled artillery systems. The Swedish government decided to transfer these howitzers to Ukraine in January. Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson said the weapon has good mobility and high accuracy. SVT reports this.
On the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery, which was celebrated in Ukraine on November 4, the Ukrainian military for the first time showed the Archer self-propelled gun, which had already been transferred to the brigades.
As you know, Archer is a Swedish self-propelled artillery unit of 155 mm caliber. It was created on the basis of the Volvo A30D truck and is designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field obstacles. “Archer” can hit the enemy at a distance of 5 km. Moreover, this self-propelled gun requires only a few minutes to deploy, open fire and leave the firing area.
Let us remind you that on November 3, the US Department of Defense announced a new aid package for Ukraine, which includes ammunition for NASAMS air defense and HIMARS MLRS, artillery shells, anti-tank systems, warm clothing, and the purchase of anti-UAV equipment.
