This statement was made by Biden administration spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre.
The United States began sending smaller packages of military aid to Ukraine in order to stretch out support over time, the issue of allocating funding to Ukraine has reached a deadlock in Congress, said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
She said the United States intends to extend its ability to support Ukraine as long as possible until Congress votes on new aid.
According to the speaker, today’s package has practically exhausted the additional budgets for supplies to Kyiv remaining in the Biden administration.
Let us remind you that the House of Representatives passed the law on assistance to Israel without mentioning Ukraine. This bill was supported by 226 members of the Republican Party, which holds the majority in the lower house of the US parliament.
The day before, US President Joe Biden said he would veto the bill, and the Democratic Party, which controls the Senate, promised not to put it to a vote. The Biden administration has asked Congress to approve a $106 billion bailout package. for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan, most of which involves the allocation of aid to Kyiv.
Let us recall that earlier a group of Republicans in the US Congress called on President Biden to send ATACMS missiles of longer range to Ukraine.
The letter arrived at the White House as the House considered a separate bill to help Israel, despite the Biden administration’s request that it not be separated from funding for Ukraine and other needs. The newly elected speaker of the House of Representatives promised that a separate aid package for Ukraine worth more than $61 billion. will be presented immediately after the Israeli package is agreed upon.
Joe Biden is trying to convince the US Congress to support aid to both Ukraine and Israel, and to approve a new $106 billion aid package containing more than $61 billion in funding for Ukraine
