Now there is support from both representatives of the Republican Party and Democrats, Venislavsky said.
The US bill to provide defense assistance to Ukraine will be supported in Congress, but there is a possibility of reducing the funding for the package. This was said by a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Fyodor Venislavsky, reports Media Center Ukraine.
The People’s Deputy commented on the approval by the US House of Representatives of a draft law on emergency aid only for Israel, although it was previously intended for Ukraine, and spoke about more possible situations.
According to Venislavsky, if this bill passes the US Senate, there is every chance that Ukraine will receive the promised aid. However, we may not be talking about the values previously mentioned by President Joe Biden.
“Even if we consider the negative option, the bill on providing aid to Ukraine will still be adopted,” the parliamentarian is convinced.
The deputy noted that now there is support from both representatives of the Republican Party and Democrats.
“Therefore, I personally do not expect any excessively negative results from considering the issue of providing Ukraine with financial, military-technical assistance,” he said.
Recall that the Biden administration asked Congress to approve $106 billion in support of Ukraine, Israel and other foreign aid, hoping that such a package deal would help approve the full amount. At the same time, Congress wants to vote separately for such initiatives.
