Reuters writes about this.
A new aid package for Ukraine could contain laser-guided munitions to shoot down drones worth about $300 million. The remaining packages will include additional ammunition for NASAMS and HIMARS systems, 105 and 155 mm artillery, TOW anti-tank missiles, Claymore anti-personnel mines, small arms and heavy trucks.
The American people are very worried about this, and so am I. And I can tell you that Republicans in the House of Representatives do too,” said Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson, answering a question about voting on the Ukraine aid package.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives also emphasized that legislators should take care of the American border. Because as long as it is open, the US is open to a big threat.
If we’re going to take care of the borders in Ukraine, we also have to take care of the American border. And I think there is bipartisan support for this idea,” Johnson said.
The newly elected speaker also indicated that a separate aid package to Ukraine worth more than $61 billion. will be presented immediately after the Israeli package is agreed upon.
