The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kaisa Ollongren, who arrived on a visit to Kyiv. This was reported on the website of the head of state.
Zelensky thanked Kais Ollongren for his great attention to Ukraine and repeated visits since the beginning of the mass invasion of the Russian Federation.
“The Netherlands has been with us since the first days of the Russian invasion. We really appreciate the fact that we have powerful partners and true friends,” the president said.
He also praised the fruitful talks with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, including the outcome of the telephone conversation on October 30.
“We are grateful to the Netherlands for important decisions in support of Ukraine, made at important times. These decisions have been a signal for other partners – as is the case with Patriot and F-16. This is significant support for to our army, for our people,” Zelensky emphasized.
The President told the head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense about the situation at the front. The interlocutors discussed in detail the additional support from the Netherlands in strengthening the capabilities of the defenders of Ukraine and the security of the “grain corridor”.
At the end of the meeting, Vladimir Zelensky presented Kais Ollongren with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, III degree – for his significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
It was also reported today that Zelensky and the head of the European Council discussed support for Ukraine.
