The issue of financial aid to Ukraine is intertwined with the Mexican border protection bill, Mike Johnson reports.
Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said he would introduce a package for Congress’ consideration. In particular, it will include funding for aid to Ukraine and border protection. This was discussed at Johnson’s press conference on Thursday, November 2, C-SPAN reports.
The bill with aid from Ukraine and border protection will be after the vote in the House of Representatives for aid to Israel.
According to him, he believes it is right to combine funding for aid to Ukraine and protection of the border with Mexico, because it will help to get a bipartisan agreement on these issues.
“We have responsibilities, there are things we can and must do around the world, but above all we must take care of our own home. And while our borders are wide open, we open ourselves to a big threat. If we want to help the borders with Ukraine, we must also protect the American border,” assured the representative of the US House of Representatives.
It should be noted that the vote on Johnson’s $14.3 billion bill for aid to Israel will take place on Thursday.
We remind you that on Wednesday the US House of Representatives, after several weeks of attempts, elected a new representative – a representative of the Republican majority and a supporter of former President Donald Trump, Mike Johnson.
