This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
According to the WSJ, Washington received information that the private military company Wagner could supply an air defense system to the Lebanese group Hezbollah. We are talking about the SA-22 system, which is used by anti-aircraft missiles and anti-aircraft guns to intercept aircraft.
The US has not yet confirmed that the system has been dispatched, the US official said. However, a US aircraft carrier is already in the Eastern Mediterranean to try to contain Hezbollah.
Let us remind you that after the attack by Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip on Israel, tensions with Hezbollah began to rise. We are talking about daily clashes between the parties along the Israeli-Lebanese border. Iranian-backed militants fired rockets at Israeli outposts and forces along the border several times.
