Many weapons entered Ukraine because the state had to be defended. The issue of these weapons is under the control of the military.
After the war, our state faced the problem of circulation of illegal weapons. We are talking about the captured weapons of the invaders. The Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klymenko, stated this on Wednesday, November 1, in an interview with Ukrainian News.
At the same time, Klimenko emphasized that not a single weapon passed through the Ukrainian border with all EU countries and Moldova was smuggled or uncontrolled.
“This is the work of the police, SBU and border guards. Moreover, I can say that not a single bullet passed through the border. Quite strict control on our part and our partners confirm that the border is closed. It is regarding the possibility of transporting and transferring weapons from Ukraine The entry of weapons is rationed, weapons are imported based on established rules, “said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Regarding the seized weapons, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the authorities are already working to control this issue. He pointed out that a bill on such weapons has already been registered.
“All captured weapons must be registered with the police. After registration, we return these weapons to the citizens, but we know their number, we know that after the battles, within 90 days, these citizens must surrender these weapons or register them with the police. I can say that we will have a problem with weapons, we understand it very well,” he added.
The police exposed two residents of the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region who illegally acquired and stored the Russian Tor anti-aircraft missile system and ammunition for a total value of more than 30 million hryvnias.
Some of the weapons used by Hamas militants to attack populated areas of Israel on October 7, 2023, came from Russia.
