According to preliminary information, during canoe training in Barbara Bay, a group of 5 people was returning to the shore due to worsening weather conditions. At this time, the canoe in which the minor, born in 2007, was located was struck by lightning. As a result of a lightning strike, the minor disappeared into the water, the report says.
Search efforts are continuing at the scene, with the participation of water police, State Emergency Service employees, municipal guards and members of the public. The search continues both on water and on land.
