The event took place in a field on the outskirts of the town of Snigirevka, Bashtansky district. The press service of the State Emergency Service reported this today, November 1.
The explosion injured two people:
- a man born in 1967 had a traumatic amputation of two legs;
- a man born in 1961 was hospitalized in a medical facility to determine the extent of the injury. After examination, he refused hospitalization.
The State Emergency Service notes that the mine danger in the de-occupied territories is quite high.
Any rash step can cause a tragedy, the department notes. — Ammunition left by the occupiers can be found everywhere.
It is noted that there are cases when such explosive devices detonate not after the first “contact”, but a second or even a third time.
Cases were recorded when cars drove along a field road several times and the ammunition did not detonate, and then at some point exploded. There were cases when farmers cultivated a field, sowed seeds, and when they were harvesting, they ran into explosive objects left in the ground, and they detonated, the State Emergency Service notes.
The department urges you to call special lines 101 or 102 if you find objects from outside that look like ammunition.
