The Israeli military also announced the killing of one of Hamas’ commanders, Ibrahim Biari.
On Tuesday, October 31, IDF troops took control of a Hamas “military stronghold” in the northern Gaza Strip and killed approximately 50 terrorists. The Times of Israel reported this in connection with the IDF.
The Israel Defense Forces said infantry forces and tanks led by the GivatiBrigade captured a compound in western Jabaliya that was used by Hamas’ Jabaliya Battalion.
It was noted that the complex includes tunnels and missile launch sites, as well as weapons storage areas.
Israeli troops clashed with Hamas inside the compound, killing “many” terrorists, while the air force carried out strikes on targets and other operatives in the area.
After capturing the site, the troops found and then destroyed the tunnel entrances and weapons.
In addition, Sky News, citing a statement from the IDF, reports that in Jabaliya, the Israeli military removed one of the commanders of Hamas, Ibrahim Biari. It was mentioned that this happened as a result of an attack on a refugee camp. However, the fate of the refugees was not reported.
“In this operation, many terrorists were killed. Those terrorists who were with him (Biari – ed.) in the building, as well as in the tunnels below it,” the message says.
It was also noted that the impact on the building led to the collapse of other houses due to the extensive underground infrastructure there.
According to the IDF, liquidated leader Biari was behind not only the October 7 attack on Israel, but other attacks as well.
Earlier on Tuesday it was reported that Israel had begun fighting with Hamas in Gaza’s underground tunnels.
We remind you that on October 31, the Israel Defense Forces moved into the third phase of the war against Hamas. The IDF is expanding its ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
