On Tuesday, October 31, the Ukrainian government will approve an agreement on financing the EU Support for Recovery and Reform program. After its signing, the money will be allocated by the European Commission. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced this today at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The head of government noted that European money will be used to restore infrastructure, including energy. Also, these hundreds of millions are allocated to help business, anti-corruption measures, environmental protection and digitalization.
We thank our European allies for always being there,” added Szmigal.
Let us recall that on October 27, EU leaders approved a plan to use proceeds from frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine. The European Commission may announce legal proposals in early December, and subsequently a legislative act should appear that would allow the money to be withdrawn and transferred to Kyiv.
