The former official organized a large-scale scheme for the illegal departure of men from Ukraine. He created a fake charitable foundation and more than 30 volunteer organizations in Ukraine. In their name, he registered the Ukhilians as international carriers of humanitarian cargo. In this way, men could evade mobilization and travel abroad illegally. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
Investigators found that this illegal scheme operated in the Kyiv, Lvov, Khmelnitsky, Volyn, Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions. Those being evaded paid the businessmen from 2 to 5 thousand dollars, and the amount depended on the urgency of the foreign “trip”.
The defendant himself fled to Europe in March 2023 under the guise of a volunteer. He himself was dismissed from the Judicial Guard Service back in 2021 due to involvement in corruption.
Investigators have already informed the former official of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations) and Part 3 of Art. 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The attacker is hiding abroad, but efforts are ongoing to bring him to justice.
Let us remind you that on October 27, Ukrainian border guards detained 14 men of military age in the Odessa region who were trying to get to Moldova. The evaders contacted the organizers on the Internet, who, for 2 thousand dollars. showed them the routes to travel.
