Kyiv has insisted on adopting the new restrictions soon, but it will take at least two months before that.
The seventh package of European Union sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine is expected by the end of the summer. This was stated by Advisor to the Minister of Energy Lana Zerkal on the air of the telethon on Thursday, June 9th.
According to him, EU members are now discussing a gas embargo.
“The discussion is ongoing, and Europeans will need to pump in energy carriers for the heating season, providing at least 80-85% of the required volume,” the adviser said.
At the same time, Zerkal said, Europe is looking at Ukrainian UGS facilities in terms of the safety of storing their gas quantities in them.
Earlier, Ukraine submitted proposals to the European Union on the seventh package of sanctions against Russia. Kyiv insisted on the adoption of new restrictions as soon as possible.
