Russia is ready for negotiations with the West about Ukraine – “on a realistic basis,” said the head of the Russian Defense Ministry.
Russia is ready for discussions on resolving the war in Ukraine, and the aggressor country is also ready to discuss “coexistence with the West.” This is what the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu said at a forum in Beijing on October 30, reports RosSMI.
According to him, the Russian Federation remains ready for political discussions “on the post-conflict resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.” Russia is also ready for more “coexistence with the West.”
True, all this should be done “based on the truth,” believes the Russian minister. Otherwise, in his opinion, “nothing will work.”
“If the necessary conditions are created, we remain ready for political discussions on a realistic basis,” Shoigu said.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense also believes that relations between nuclear states within the UN Security Council, “with special responsibility for maintaining peace and international stability,” should be kept equal.
“To build a fair, multipolar world order, it is necessary to update the architecture of global security and give it more stability. To do this, it is necessary to unite the efforts of all interested countries,” concluded said Shoigu.
Let’s remember that during his visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that “in Ukraine they are thinking about negotiations with Russia.” Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said today is a “bad moment” for negotiations with the Russian Federation.
Meanwhile, according to The Washington Post, Ukraine and Russia continue to negotiate on humanitarian issues.
