The causes of Matthew Perry’s death will be further investigated; they cannot be identified during forensic examination.
The medical examiner could not determine the cause of death of actor Matthew Perry, who was found dead at his residence on Saturday. The matter is still under investigation by the Office of the Medical Examiner, CNN reported.
The medical examiner updated his online record for Perry on Sunday afternoon, listing his cause of death as “deferred.”
“In cases where the cause of death cannot be determined at autopsy, a deferred certificate will be issued until further investigations are completed,” the publication quoted the Los Angeles coroner’s instructions for this case.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit is also investigating Perry’s death, but foul play is not yet suspected, according to a CNN law enforcement source.
Perry’s parents, John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Morrison, and his stepfather, Keith Morrison, were seen arriving at the actor’s home Saturday night as police responded.
The Perry family released a statement Sunday saying their hearts were “broken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.”
It was previously reported that the famous actor Matthew Perry, particularly known for his role as Chandler in the TV series Friends, died in the United States at the age of 55. He was found dead in the Jacuzzi of a house in the area of Los Angeles.
Parry has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse. He once admitted that he almost died from drugs. He later opened up about his addiction in a memoir published last year. He even reportedly opened the doors of his home to alcoholics and drug addicts.
