In the Usinsk region of the Komi Republic (RF), oil tanks caught fire on Sunday, the Russian propaganda news agency TASS reported.

Initially, the Lukoil-Komi company reported that a tank fire occurred in the area of ​​the village of Verkhnekolvinsk Republic of Komi. The cause of the fire was allegedly a violation of the contractor’s safety regulations.

According to preliminary data, one company employee died and two were injured.

The reservoir is empty, it is being cleaned, and the remaining gases can explode, said the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the region, Ekaterina Kiselevich.

Later, Kiselevich reported that the fire from the reservoir in Komi had spread to a nearby oil well.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region reported that the area of ​​fire of oil tanks in the Usinsk region of the Komi Republic was 360 square meters. meters.
