The actor was found dead in his home in Los Angeles yesterday, October 29, in the evening. This was reported by NBC News, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to American media, the actor’s body was found in a jacuzzi. Law enforcement agencies found no signs of foul play and the cause of death is being determined.
Perry struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for years and visited rehab clinics multiple times. In particular, about a year ago, he took part in a press tour dedicated to the release of his book “Friends, Lovers and the Big Bad: A Memoir,” in which he revealed that in 2019 he almost died from complications due to opioid use.
The bouts of addiction began while he was filming Friends. So, in 2016, in an interview with the BBC, he said that he did not remember three years of filming in the series due to alcohol and drugs. According to Perry, because of this, his least favorite episode of the series would be somewhere between seasons three and six.
In the book, Perry said he spent a total of $7 million on rehabilitation and recovery.
