In Ukraine, 1,880 settlements in 16 regions lost power. Zhytomyr region, Rivne region and Khmelnytsky region suffered the most from the disaster.
On Saturday night, at least four people died and 10 others were injured in Ukraine due to worsening weather conditions. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Alexei Kuleba, on Telegram on October 28.
“In the Fastovsky district of the Kiev region, bad weather took the life of a 61-year-old man. Two more men – 65 and 35 years old – died in Kiev. Seven people were injured. They were hospitalized with fractures and bruises. Unfortunately, one person died in the Dnepropetrovsk region. There were victims in Kharkov, two of them were hospitalized,” he wrote.
According to him, today Zhytomyr region, Rivne region and Khmelnytsky region are suffering the most from the disaster.
In the Zhytomyr region, 1,613 substations were damaged, almost 62 thousand consumers in 415 settlements were without electricity. In the Khmelnitsky region, 199 settlements remain without power. More than 20 thousand consumers are waiting for the return of electricity,” he said.
In this regard, the State Emergency Service informed that 1,880 settlements in 16 regions are currently de-energized in Ukraine: Kiev, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Sumy, Khmelnitsky, Cherkassy, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Rivne, Lviv, Donetsk, Kharkov, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnitskaya.
Ukrenergo teams are involved in restoring the power supply. More than 1 thousand rescuers and 260 pieces of equipment were involved in other work.
