This year, Russia built a new large hangar on the territory of the plant. The construction process was monitored using satellite images from Maxar and Planet Labs. The first work started in 2018, but the construction was accelerated to 2022.
The specialty of the aircraft plant is Su-30 fighters of all modifications. The planes are the most famous in the Russian air force. According to the international publication The Military Balance, the Russian Federation has approximately 120 units of the aforementioned fighters.
The plant, located in Yekaterinburg, repairs engines and gearboxes that can be used in military helicopters such as Mi-2, Mi-8, Mi-24 and Ka-52. The Russians are actively using listed helicopters for the war against Ukraine.
From the end of 2021, Russia began to build a new large factory on the territory of the plant, up to 145 meters long and up to 75 meters wide. It also ended this year.
The plant is located in the city of Dubno in the north of the Moscow region.
