Law No. 3379-IX came into force, providing for strengthening the social protection of military personnel, police officers and some other persons. Article No. 2 of this law amended paragraph No. 11 “On the social and legal protection of military personnel and members of their families”, regarding the length of stay of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for treatment and leave for treatment. This was reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada and ArmyInform.
It is noted that now members of the defense forces have the right to receive treatment after being wounded (concussion, trauma or injury), and the total time spent in Ukraine in medical institutions and on leave for treatment is at least one week, but not more than four months in a row.
Total treatment time abroad, including travel time from one foreign facility to another and waiting time between elective surgeries, is now a maximum of 12 consecutive months.
It is noted that vacation is granted without taking into account the time required to travel within Ukraine to the vacation destination and back, but not more than two days one way. During the period of treatment and leave for treatment, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine retain monetary and material support.
Let us recall that in May the Verkhovna Rada approved bills that simplify document flow and treatment of military personnel, as well as increasing the number of places of work of military medical commissions.
