Three enemy henchmen, recruited in 2018, are preparing sabotage on the facilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense in the Kyiv region.
Counterintelligence of the Security Service neutralized a “reactivated” FSB agent combat group in Kyiv, which included three people. The press service of the department reported this on October 25.
Detainees are preparing a series of powerful explosions at Ukrainian military control facilities.
“Among the priority “targets” of the aggressor were the units of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as their reserve command posts. To commit sabotage, the defendants planned who used up to ten drones, specially equipped with improvised explosive devices,” specified the special service.
According to the investigation, the adversary group was formed in 2018 by a career FSB officer. It consisted of three people (residents of Kyiv and Chernigov), who, after recruitment, were transferred to “standby” mode until the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
Each of the members of the Russian intelligence-combat group has its own specialization: one makes improvised explosive devices, the second is responsible for converting “civilian” UAVs into attacks .
Another participant directly controls the drones. In order to acquire the appropriate skills, in March of this year, the woman completed training courses for UAV operators in the Kiev region.
Henchmen of the enemy were informed of the suspicion of creating a terrorist group (Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and illegal manufacture of explosives (Part 3 of Article 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ).
The defendants are in custody and face up to 15 years in prison.
It was previously reported that in the Nikolaev region, one of the largest Russian intelligence networks during the war, which included 13 local residents, was neutralized.
