This was reported by the press service of the UK Ministry of Defense.
The training was carried out by specialized British Army reservist engineers working in the country’s critical national infrastructure sector. The exercise took place at a British gasworks, military airstrip and port facility.
It is noted that the course was based on several real-life scenarios to provide Ukrainian participants with the opportunity to practice developing plans and implementing practical solutions to ensure effective protection of their critical infrastructure facilities.
In particular, engineers were trained:
- plan to protect your critical infrastructure from such attacks;
- identify its most vulnerable elements;
- determine potential blast distances and effects of different weapons and explosives;
- where best to place physical and air barriers to help protect these facilities from Russian attacks.
Damage and destruction of critical infrastructure as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks is one of the greatest threats to the life and safety of the civilian population of Ukraine as a result of Putin’s unprovoked invasion, the department notes.
