Analysts believe that the Russian military is now looking for ways to bypass Ukraine’s air defenses for winter strikes.
The Russian military is testing various combinations of missiles, guided bombs and drones to attack Ukrainian rear areas, trying to find gaps in Ukrainian air defenses. So, the invaders are preparing for winter attacks, according to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
They recalled that recently Russian troops launched strikes with unidentified air-to-ground missiles in the Nikolaev, Kherson and Odessa regions; X-59 missiles in Krivoy Rog, Dnepropetrovsk region, Nikolaev and Kherson regions; Iskander-K cruise missiles and Shahed UAV in Krivoy Rog on the night of October 20-21.
The Southern Operational Command then noted that three of the unidentified missiles exploded in the air, the X-59 hit a residential area of Krivoy Rog, and the Iskanders and Shaheds hit industrial facilities in Krivoy Rog.
The Ukrainian Southern Operational Command reported that the Russian tactical aviation simultaneously fired 30 modified guided aerial bombs (KAB) on the front-line part of the Kherson region. Russian forces have never used this combination of weapons before.
We remind you that earlier the Southern Defense Forces said that for the first time the enemy launched missiles and spacecraft at the same time.
As reported, this year energy facilities will have three levels of protection in case of Russian attack by missiles and drones.
