European Union foreign ministers will meet for the first time on October 23 to discuss helping Armenia to strengthen its democracy and defense capabilities amid Yerevan’s growing mistrust of the aggressor country Russia.

This was reported by a high-ranking EU official on condition of anonymity, writes DW.
According to the official, Brussels has noted a radical change in sentiment in Armenia.
Armenia has changed its position towards Russia. They felt that Moscow had changed them, and there were good reasons for this, and they were faced with a new situation. Our duty is to help and support Armenia in these changes,” he said.
Against this background, the EU wants to help Yerevan financially, including on issues related to democracy, as well as security and the ability to withstand cyber and hybrid attacks.
It is likely that the foreign ministers in Brussels will decide to strengthen the EU civilian mission, which began operating this year as part of efforts to normalize Azerbaijani-Armenian relations.
The EU is concerned about any potential attempts to undermine the territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of Armenia.
This is something that raises serious concerns, and we have clearly communicated this to President Aliyev and Azerbaijani representatives, the official added.
Let us recall that earlier this week, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the EU is a key partner supporting fundamental reforms of the Armenian government.
