More than 20 million Americans watched US President Joe Biden’s speech on television. This is almost three times higher than his last performance seen. This was reported by Reuters on Saturday, October 21.
About 20.3 million people watched Biden’s primetime speech Thursday night calling for military aid to Ukraine and Israel, according to research firm Nielsen.
By comparison, Biden’s prime-time speech in June at the end of the debt crisis drew 6.2 million viewers and aired on two major US broadcast networks.
Thursday’s viewing figures were up across 10 language and US cable networks, including ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC.
Two-thirds of viewers watched Biden’s 15-minute speech on broadcast networks, with 35% on cable. More than three quarters of television viewers are over 55 years old.
The president’s speech was the most watched on Fox News – nearly 3.4 million viewers. MSNBC during this period had 2.1 million viewers, and CNN had 1.4 million viewers.
We remind you that on Friday night, Joe Biden made a video message to the people of the United States. He condemned the actions of Hamas and Putin’s Russia, saying that the attacks on Israel and the invasion of Ukraine had common motives.
On October 20, Biden sent an urgent budget request to Congress to support Israel and Ukraine. According to media reports, we are talking about 106 billion dollars, of which 61.4 billion dollars a year for Ukraine.
The Kremlin was offended by the comparison between Putin and Hamas
