Innovations in traffic regulations concern the transportation of children and the inclusion of headlights outside populated areas. These changes should bring Ukrainian legislation closer to the legislation of the European Union. The corresponding decision was made on October 20 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk reported this on Telegram.
Now drivers outside populated areas must turn on daytime running lights while driving all year round. Previously, this rule was in effect in the autumn-winter-spring period – from October 1 to May 1. If the car design does not have these running lights, you need to turn on the low beam headlights.
The changes also prohibit the transportation of children less than 150 cm tall in vehicles without the use of child restraint systems that allow the child to be fastened using seat belts provided for by the design of this vehicle, and in the back seat of a motorcycle and moped, except in certain cases.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers clarified the list of road signs indicating special parking spaces on highways and roads for cars.
We would like to remind you that in August, another 50 automatic recording systems for traffic violations went into operation on Ukrainian roads, and the total number of recording devices as of August 11 will be 215 devices.
