A number of events are currently underway aimed at the rapid return of the collection of artifacts to Ukraine.
The collection of Scythian gold, exhibited in a museum in the Netherlands, will soon return to Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy (MCIP) on Friday, October 20.
“MCIP, together with partners from the Netherlands, is holding several events aimed at quickly returning the collection of artifacts to Ukraine,” said the acting. Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostislav Karandeev.
The agency recalled that on June 9, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands made a final decision to return the Scythian gold to Ukraine. Thus, he confirmed the appeal decision two years ago in favor of Kyiv.
Legal battles over the treasures continued for nearly nine years. Previously, the Supreme Court completely rejected the cassation appeal of the Russian-occupied Crimea museums and upheld the appeal decision, which satisfied all of Ukraine’s demands.
It was also identified where the Scythian gold collection was planned to be stored after it returned to Ukraine.
