The artifacts were transferred for temporary storage to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. After restoration they will be displayed in one of the National Museums.
14 historically important artifacts and weapons were returned to Ukraine – medieval swords, sabers and a flint ax from the late Eneolithic period. The Russians stole them from the temporarily occupied territories and tried to smuggle them into the United States. This was announced by the acting minister at the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Rostislav Karandeev.
According to him, the historical values were returned thanks to the cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine and American intelligence services.
The artifacts were transferred for temporary storage to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. After high-quality restoration, they will be displayed in one of the National Museums.
Let’s recall that in September the United States transferred cultural property stolen by the Russians to Ukraine.
As reported, the NAPC has created a database of cultural property stolen by the Russian Federation.
