This was stated by the acting press secretary of the North Atlantic Alliance, Dylan White.
According to him, the increased patrols involve additional surveillance and reconnaissance flights, including the use of maritime patrol aircraft, AWACS aircraft (equipped with an airborne radio detection and targeting system) and drones.
In addition, a flotilla of four minesweepers has been sent to the Baltic Sea area.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and in close contact with our allies Estonia and Finland, as well as our partner Sweden. NATO will continue to adapt its maritime posture in the Baltic Sea and will take all necessary steps to ensure the security of allies, White stressed.
Let us remind you that on the night of October 8, a leak was discovered on the Balticconnector gas pipeline. On October 19, Finnish police completed their investigation at the scene.
