Hundreds of people gathered around and inside the Capitol complex, calling for an end to the war between Israel and Hamas.
Participants in an anti-war demonstration calling for an end to the war between Israel and the Hamas group were detained in Washington (USA). ABCNews reports.
“Approximately 300 people were arrested by Capitol Police during Wednesday’s large demonstration against Israel’s war on Hamas,” a Capitol Police spokesman said.
It is known that on October 18, hundreds of people gathered around and inside the Capitol complex, calling for an end to the war. Some demonstrators, coordinated by the leftist Jewish group JewishVoiceforPeace, entered the CannonHouse office building through different entrances and gathered inside the rotunda.
Police noted that the protesters, like the general public, were allowed into the Capitol complex and would only face trouble if they disturbed the peace.
Let us recall that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in his second meeting in Israel in recent days with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed the readiness of the United States to provide all the necessary support to protect against terrorism from Hamas militants.
According to media reports, Israel has requested $10 billion worth of weapons from the United States.
