The incident took place at Ben Gurion Airport, where the German leader was captured by an air raid. Scholz had to leave the plane due to safety regulations.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his delegation were forced to get off the plane and lay on the ground. It happened in Tel Aviv during an air raid, reports Bild and German reporter Sarah Siewert on the X social network.
It was learned that before the plane carrying the Chancellor’s delegation from Israel took off, the air raid alarm sounded at Ben Gurion Airport. All passengers must disembark and lie down on the tarmac for safety.
After that, Scholz was taken to a shelter. However, he witnessed two explosions from the air defense.
Then the plane and car were checked. After this temporary evacuation, the flight left Tel Aviv for Cairo.
According to the publication, the German Chancellor became the first head of government to visit Israel since the Hamas attack on October 7. During his visit, he expressed his strong solidarity with Israel.
