The current President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, “does not and cannot have any competitors” in the country’s political sphere. Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov said this on Tuesday, October 17.
“We have repeatedly said that President Putin is undoubtedly the number one politician and statesman in our country. My personal opinion – although I hardly have the right to speak, but, breaking the rules, I can say – is that he has no competitors and will not have in the Russian Federation,” he said.
As you know, on March 17, 2024, a president will be elected in Russia. Peskov has already said that the Kremlin does not see any competition for Putin.
In turn, the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, proposed to completely cancel the presidential elections in Russia until the end of the war against Ukraine or leave Putin as a single candidate in the vote.
Let’s recall that on October 13, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe declared Russia a dictatorship and called to recognize Vladimir Putin as illegitimate after the end of his current presidential term.
