The Ukrainian military, in particular, achieved partial success west of Verbovoye, Zaporozhye region. In addition, in the Zaporozhye direction, the defenders did not allow the loss of positions southwest of Novodanilovka, Robotinoy and west of Verbovoy. In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue assault operations to the south and consolidate on the achieved lines. Representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrey Kovalev announced this on October 17 during a telethon.
And in the Andreevka area of the Bakhmut direction, units of the Defense Forces repelled three attacks by the Russians.
Meanwhile, the invaders are still trying to cordon off Avdeevka, and during October 16, more than 10 enemy attacks were repulsed. And in the Maryinsky and Shakhtarsky directions, Ukrainian defenders repulsed more than 15 enemy attacks in the Maryinka area and five attacks south of Zolotaya Niva and south of Prechistovka, Donetsk region.
It’s also hot in the Kupyansk direction, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 15 attacks by Russians in the area of Senkovka and Ivanovka, Kharkov region, and five more attacks in the area of Stelmakhovka and Nadezhda, Lugansk region.
Let us remind you that the Russian occupiers are still trying to capture Avdiivka, but they have fewer and fewer resources to do so. The intensity of shelling has also decreased somewhat, but the enemy still continues to attack the city using various types of weapons.
