In Transcarpathia, a swindler was exposed who defrauded the mother of a dead soldier for almost 7 million UAH. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
It was reported that the suspect involved residents of several regions of Ukraine in illegal transactions, and they called the woman with offers to invest money allegedly in a foreign investment company. Over time, the woman is promised to receive high interest on the deposit (better than offers from banks).
“For six months, the woman systematically contacted the scammers and deposited money in parts allegedly into an account opened for her in the company. She transferred money to the suspect’s authorized representative in the Uzhgorod region or transferred funds to bank cards. The victim realized that he was deceived only after that “, how he tried to recover his investments and also paid “insurance interest” for it, but did not receive the money. After that, he reported the crime to law enforcement officials,” the message said.
The total amount embezzled by scammers was UAH 7.5 million.
“These are the funds that the woman received as financial assistance from the state after the death of her son in the war,” clarified the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The woman is a native of the Donetsk region, but because of the war she moved to Uzhgorod.
