The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, on Monday, October 16, had a telephone conversation with the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, and the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. The head of state announced this on Telegram.
“I thanked Finland for the 19th defense aid package and effective participation in the implementation of the peace formula, especially the clause on radiation and nuclear safety,” Zelensky said.
The President also added that he told the Finnish leader about the continuation of the one-year Grain initiative from Ukraine.
The leaders of the two countries also discussed security challenges in the Middle East and the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.
In a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada, the implementation of agreements during Zelensky’s visit to Canada was discussed. In particular, the development of hydroelectric power generation and the completion of the Holodomor-Genocide Museum.
In addition, the leaders of Ukraine and Canada discussed defense cooperation and global security challenges. The President thanked Canada for its willingness to help evacuate Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip.
“I also thank Canada for supporting the peace formula. I have invited a representative of the country to the next meeting of advisers, which will take place soon,” Zelensky said.
We remind you that on October 11, Finland announced the allocation of the 19th military aid package to Ukraine. Its value is 95 million euros.
