In the Lviv region near the city of Truskavets, a road accident occurred in which three people died and four others were injured. It was reported by the regional department of the National Police on Sunday, October 15.
Law enforcement officers in the area established that on the Truskavets-Lvov highway a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by a 43-year-old resident of Kiev and a Volkswagen Caddy driven by a resident of the city of Rava-Russkaya collided at the age of 56. .
Due to the accident, the driver of the Volkswagen and his two passengers died on the spot due to their injuries. Four other people – a passenger and two female passengers of a Volkswagen, as well as a passenger of a Toyota – were injured.
It was previously found that the cause of the collision was the Toyota driver’s driving into oncoming traffic. He was detained.
The police opened criminal proceedings under the article on violation of road safety rules or transport operation by people driving vehicles (Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The penalty of the article provides punishment in the form of imprisonment for 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the imprisoned Toyota driver.
