This is what Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said on Saturday, October 14, on the sidelines of meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Marrakesh, Reuters reports.
“I see the great fatigue, I see the great weakness of our partners, they want to forget about the war, but the war is still going on, fully,” he emphasized.
Ukraine is working “twice as hard to persuade our partners to support us as at the last annual meeting” in April, the official added.
According to him, “geopolitical changes and the internal political context in different countries” reduce the government’s desire to support Ukraine, citing the elections scheduled for next year in United States and European Union.
“We already have some obligations, for example, $5.4 billion under the IMF program, we are waiting for obligations from Japan and Great Britain, and, of course, we rely on our main partners and allies – the United States and the European Union ,” Marchenko concluded.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance said that Ukraine attracted about three billion dollars in grants and preferential financing from international partners in September.
