The IDF is asking civilians to move south of the sector to avoid danger.
The Israeli military called on civilians in Gaza City to evacuate to the south. This was stated in a statement published on October 13.
“The IDF calls on all civilians in Gaza City to evacuate from their homes in the south for their own safety and protection… The terrorist organization Hamas is waging war against the State of Israel, and Gaza City is a military operation zone. This evacuation is for your own security,” emphasized the Israeli army.
It was noted that people can only return to the city when the IDF makes a new announcement.
“Hamas terrorists are hiding in Gaza City in tunnels under houses and in buildings occupied by innocent civilians. Civilians of Gaza City, evacuate south for your safety and the safety of your families and stay away yourself to Hamas terrorists who are using you as a human shield,” the Israeli military said.
They added that in the coming days the IDF will continue to be active in Gaza City and will make significant efforts to prevent harm to civilians.
