The Main Intelligence Directorate assessed the nuclear threat from the Russian Federation

Russia continues to use nuclear rhetoric, threats or blackmail with a hypothetical nuclear strike.

Russia has been actively testing and preparing nuclear weapons since the summer of 2023. The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate Vadim Skibitsky stated this on Wednesday, October 11, in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

According to him, nuclear facilities are being actively examined both on the territory of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

“Today we see Russia’s activity in checking and preparing nuclear facilities on its territory and on the territory of Belarus, where appropriate inspection activities have been carried out,” he said.

At the same time, Skibitsky believes that we are not talking about a real threat of using tactical nuclear weapons from the Russian Federation.

In his opinion, “the hypothetical nuclear strike is not as terrible as the Russian Federation claims.” He also noted that the Russians have already committed enough war crimes on the territory of Ukraine, for example, blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Medvedev had earlier said that “the threat of a nuclear conflict is growing.” A Russian official has renewed nuclear blackmail over the supply of weapons to Ukraine, which would help it liberate its territories.

We remind you that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has called for the removal of nuclear weapons from Russia.
