Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) in the Lviv region exposed a scheme for the illegal production of alcoholic beverages in Ternopil. The BEB press service reported this on October 11.
The fakes were sold through a retail network of more than 300 stores.
The investigation revealed warehouses with vodka and cognac, from which alcohol was delivered to one of the businesses in Lvov. It distributed fake drinks through retail stores.
During searches of warehouses in Ternopil, about 61 thousand liters of liquid with the smell of alcohol and a line for the production of alcohol were seized.
At the same time, on the territory of a business in the Lviv region, law enforcement officers seized more than 46 thousand liters of fake alcohol, metal containers, containers, tanks, pallets with labels, boxes for packing alcoholic beverages and financial and business documents. .
Property worth more than 26 million hryvnias was seized.
The BEB emphasized that the examinations are ongoing, the review of the seized business documentation is underway, and the full circle of people involved in the scheme has been established.
