The State Customs Service of Ukraine announced an increasing number of information-psychological special operations (IPSO) by spreading false information about government authorities and unconfirmed border crossings with large amounts of Deputy Minister’s wife’s money. of Internal Affairs.
“Unverified information disseminated by some media about the discovery of the Hungarian part of a large amount of money at the Zahony checkpoint, which was allegedly transferred by the wife of the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in September 29 of this year. , has not been confirmed,” the report said.
The Ukrainian side was officially informed by their Hungarian colleagues on October 5 that the information was not confirmed.
“In the protocol, the adjacent party clearly noted that during the period from September 28 to September 30, 2023, at the Zahony checkpoint, the police representatives did not detect any funds moving into hiding from border control and customs, and they did the same. did not know about the declaration of funds in the amount of 13 million US dollars,” said customs, adding that according to the results of checks by border and law enforcement agencies, “the person indicated in the fake message did not cross the state border. of Ukraine in 2023.”
The State Customs Service added that they have sent supporting documents to the Center for Combating Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council for consideration of the work and making appropriate decisions.
“Due to the increasing number of IPSOs in the context of a large-scale Russian invasion and attempt to destabilize the situation due to the dissemination of false information about government authorities, we ask you to check the information through the officials resource,” customs officials stressed. .
The scandal started a few days ago when one of the journalists, citing his own sources, announced on his own Telegram channel that Transcarpathian customs officials allegedly organized an unhindered exiting Hungary with a car in which $13 million was hidden. Hungarian customs officers allegedly discovered the hidden money, therefore, the driver was forced to declare it, which “exposed the whole scheme of corruption initiated by the Ukrainian side.” After that, some media outlets picked up the information and attributed the story to one of the deputy ministers of internal affairs.
