The Ministry of Culture will create a council for de-Russification, decommunization and decolonization

Local governments in communicating with society should have a common decision on demolishing or relocating monuments and other objects of the Soviet past and further link it to the Council, the ministry believes.

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine plans to create a council for de-Russification, decommunization and decolonization. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

“We held public discussions and initiated the creation of an advisory body – the Council under the Ministry and the Institute of National Remembrance, which will deal with issues of de -Russification, decommunization and decolonization. Local governments in engagement social dialogue should come to a common decision on the demolition or relocation of monuments and other objects of the Soviet past and continue to associate it with the Council, “the statement said.

Remember that in Ukraine they are widely renaming streets and destroying Soviet and Russian monuments.
