On Monday, Ukrainian troops continued their offensive amid worsening weather conditions and, according to data, advanced in the west of the Zaporozhye region and Bakhmut, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes in a regular report.
According to the press secretary of the Ukrainian General Staff and the Tauride Group of Forces Alexander Shtupun, Ukrainian troops achieved partial success west of Verbovoy (18 km southeast of Orekhov), as well as in the Klishchievka area (5 km southwest of Bakhmut) and Andreevka (10 km) southwest of Bakhmut).
The Russian military says rain has reduced visibility in southern Ukraine, making it difficult for Russian and Ukrainian surveillance drones to operate. In addition, one blogger claims that mud interferes with the movement of tracked vehicles.
Weather conditions are likely to vary depending on specific locations along the front line, ISW writes, but overall the weather is worsening.
Press Secretary of the Eastern Group of Forces of Ukraine Ilya Yevlash said that due to heavy rains, Russian troops began to use aircraft and drones less in the Kupyansk-Liman direction.
