SBU counterintelligence detained an agent of the GRU of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. To disguise his activities, he took a job with the State Emergency Service. It was this unit that went out to eliminate the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on Odessa. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Investigators found that, under the guise of a rescuer, he arrived at the landing sites, ostensibly to clear away the rubble, but in fact he recorded the consequences of enemy attacks and reported on this to the occupiers. The enemy used this data to correct repeated attacks on the city.
The GRU agent also tried to identify the combat positions of the Himars rocket artillery systems and the air defense systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the front-line areas of the region.
The traitor had already been detained; he turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Odessa, who had previously been a member of the local branch of the so-called “Leninist Communist Youth League.” He has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The attacker faces life in prison.
Let us remind you that the other day the Security Service of Ukraine withdrew from the so-called Transnistria controlled by Russia and detained an agent of the Russian FSB who was recruiting residents of the southern regions of Ukraine.
